About

Haven and Hearth Tea Company is really just a bunch of tea nerds, people like you and me, who've fallen head over heels for the magic of tea.

My journey with tea began rather simply—I just wanted more of it.

My love for tea didn't stop at drinking it, but extended to understanding where it came from, who grows it, and the stories behind each tea.

Exploring the world of tea became more than just a hobby. Starting with small informal tastings among friends and colleagues when still in school of whatever I could find locally, to the wild and exotic varietals of Southern China. Voraciously drinking tea from every region I could find, in every style I could find.

I first started with oolong moving on to green tea, black tea, white tea, eventually discovering the esoteric Pu-erh.

Pu-erh is a dry fermentation tea which at first I really disliked. But after the first week trying my first small samples, I was hooked, and where I first learned the difference that patience and deference can make in how one brews tea. Pu-erh taught me that tea is not just the tea in the cup, the whole process is a reflection of the brewer, patience can have a huge impact on how you perceive the tea you drink and the tea you share.

I felt a strange pull to spread the magic of tea with not just friends but people starting their journeys into tea.

9 years later here I am. It seemed like a natural progression to turn this love for tea into something else.

And so, Haven and Hearth was born, with the aim to celebrate global tea cultures and bring their stories to our local community. We also want to bring a curated experience and taste that we feel can show people the many sides to tea, while maintaining a focus on Pu-erh we are also bringing tea from Taiwan and Vietnam.

We're lucky enough to work with some fantastic farmers and similar enthusiasts  around the globe, and it's their tales, their passion, and their traditions that we bring back to share with our local community.

Each cup of our tea isn't just a drink, it's a journey - a little bit of the world brought to your home.
